Discovering Extraordinary Grace in an Ordinary Life

Would You Love Me Different?

If you could see things the way I see them.

The deep push and pull that takes the black and white and muddles it grey.

The curved smile with the sharp edge that leaves me checking for blood.

The big and loud that hides the tiny whisper just beneath the surface.

Would you love me different?

If you could know what I know.

The words spilling out to cover up a silent abyss.

The laughter that echoes cold and hollow.

The tears that disappear only to leave burns on the soul.

Would you love me different?

If you could feel the way I feel,

The turn around that sends me reeling.

The twisting, wringing at the very core of who you are.

The longing to taste blood as words hang still in the air.

Would you love me different?

If I could have my way,

You would say no, none of it matters

And all of it matters.

But the question looms over all we do.

Would you love me different?

Linking words today.

About Becky Hastings

I am emotional and logical. I am strong and dependent. I am a juxtaposition of head and heart exploring it all through writing. And in all my mixed-up ways I am loved. I'm here to tell you that you are, too. Just the way you are.
