My Ink Dance

Discovering Extraordinary Grace in an Ordinary Life

Lucky #300

Most of the time in this little corner of the world wide web of ideas I feel very small. It’s easy to feel small when the world screams around you and more friends, bigger platforms, and more page hits mean success.

But for me, well, success looks a bit like 300.

Not 300 followers or friends or subscribers. Not even 300 page views a day (or a week). No, my 300 is deeply personal.

This is the 300th post I’ve published here on My Ink Dance.

300 times I’ve poured my heart out and pulled my hair out.

300 times of practice and less than perfect.

300 times I hit that blue publish button instead of delete.

300 times my faith was bigger than my fear.

In the scheme of things 300 may be small. Very small. But for me, the girl who always loved to string words to make people feel, the girl who was so afraid to do something because the idea of doing it wrong was paralyzing, the girl who feels like she’ll never be enough and she’s always too much, for me this is big.

I was afraid and uncertain of the path. I still am. But I’m still here. And that says a lot.

And that fact that you are too means the world to me.

Be encouraged today friend. Whatever you are dreaming that feels like too much, whatever you are running from, whatever you are desperately longing for but too scared to grab hold of, keep going.

It may begin with small steps, but even the tiniest steps get you closer to where you want to be. Click To Tweet

Thank you for being on this journey with me. Good things are yet to come…one small step at a time.

About Becky Hastings

I am emotional and logical. I am strong and dependent. I am a juxtaposition of head and heart exploring it all through writing. And in all my mixed-up ways I am loved. I’m here to tell you that you are, too. Just the way you are.
