Discovering Extraordinary Grace in an Ordinary Life

My All Time Favorite Books to Read & Give

Books just may be one of my love languages. See? I can’t even mention them without the influence of a great book! This week I am rounding up a list of some of my favorite books to read and give.

And today is the list of some of my ALL-TIME favorites! Let me be clear, however, this is not an exhaustive list. These books are highlights that will always be in my list of favorites. After all, picking a favorite book is a little like picking your favorite child!

Every one of these books is amazing!

Redeeming Love — This will always top my list because it reminds us that we are passionately and eternally loved. A heart-wrenching tale, this book will change how you see God’s love for you.

The Best Yes — I struggle to keep white space in my life. When the world seems busy and demands are pressing in, this book gives practical insight for choosing God’s best for your life everyday.

Healing Stones — The amazing first book in this fiction series, it delves deep into relationships and feelings as you discover the relentless healing redemption of God.

The Help — Brave and bold exploration of the struggle of race for women in the south in the 1960’s, this story draws you in to each character. A beautifully sad topic rimmed with hope this book will make you think and feel deeply.

You Are Made for a God-Sized Dream — Delightfully authentic and practical, Gerth weaves hope and truth to remind us of the amazing things God has for us. If you’re lost in the mudane everyday, this book gives you permission to dream!

Bird by Bird — A classic for writers, but crafted beautifully as Lammott always does. Part guide, part inspiration, Bird by Bird gives you freedom to feel on the journey of writing.

About Becky Hastings

I am emotional and logical. I am strong and dependent. I am a juxtaposition of head and heart exploring it all through writing. And in all my mixed-up ways I am loved. I'm here to tell you that you are, too. Just the way you are.

  1. I love this list of recommendations, Becky. Healing Stones sounds very intriguing to me. I’ve read all the others except The Best Yes. Putting those two on my reading list today!
